Disadvantages of rubber riding boots :
- Do not breathe, which means feet get sweaty faster (lined rubber riding boots have a moisture-absorbing lining, so this occurs later than with unlined rubber riding boots)
- Cold in winter (the lined version is of course warmer than a rubber riding boot without lining, but will never be as warm as a leather riding boot)
- Less sturdy and therefore less safe than a leather riding boot if, for example, a horse steps on your foot.
Alternative: If you find the cost of leather riding boots too high, for example because you (child) are still in your early years, but you are concerned about the above-mentioned disadvantages of rubber riding boots, you can also consider shoes with chaps.
