Myler bits allow for independent lateral movement, which has many advantages. The bits are anatomically shaped, resulting in better pressure distribution in the mouth. They provide more tongue freedom, allowing the horse to swallow and relax more effectively. The metal mouthpiece with copper inlay promotes salivation. When the horse yields and relaxes, the bit exerts no pressure. Myler bits allow for independent lateral aids, which is more intuitive for the horse.
Myler Level 3 bits offer the most tongue freedom. These bits have a forward- and upward-curving mouthpiece with tongue freedom. They offer a wide range of action to work as gently as the horse allows. They work primarily with pressure on the bars; the mouthpiece rotates downward on the bars. Level 3 is best suited for horses that are further along in their training.
The mouthpiece is curved and wraps around the lips and shoulders instead of pinching. The mouthpiece is 12 mm at the cheek.
