The center section is tilted 45 degrees, allowing the bit to rest optimally on the tongue. The four different rein attachment options make the bit versatile. The way the reins are attached determines the leverage behind the ears. Using a curb strap can limit pressure behind the ears and reduce pressure on the lower jaw. Attaching the reins to the upper rings delays the leverage effect.
