The full cheek snaffle has two transverse bars on the cheek piece. This shape puts more pressure on the horse's cheeks. This makes the horse more maneuverable and prevents the bit from being pulled through the mouth as easily. Furthermore, this bit sits comfortably and stably in the mouth. The full cheek snaffle is ideal for young horses because of the pressure distribution or for spirited horses, preventing the bit from being pulled through the mouth. The TRUST full cheek snaffle has bars on the cheek piece that are slightly curved outward to prevent them from touching the side of the horse's head. Therefore, it's important to hang the bit in the mouth with the bars facing outward to prevent them from causing wounds.
The double-jointed bit has two hinge points, is shaped more to the mouth, and sits somewhat looser in the mouth. This bit acts on the tongue, the bars, and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws, as the hinge points can press against the bars, potentially causing wounds. Compared to a single-jointed bit, this bit acts more on the tongue. A double-jointed mouthpiece is a standard mouthpiece.
The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a distinctive blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture, which has a sweet taste and naturally stimulates the horse's saliva production. This causes the horse to foam more, which improves acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to a brownish-gray.
TRUST equestrian bits are quintessentially Dutch. All bits are designed, developed, and handmade in the Netherlands. A team of technical professionals works on their production daily. The bits are assembled with the utmost care and made from the finest materials. This ensures high quality control and standards. Each design continuously considers the balance between shape, material, and weight. TRUST bits are slightly curved, allowing them to conform better to the horse's mouth. This anatomical shape allows the bit to fit more comfortably in the mouth and distributes pressure more effectively. With a wide selection of mouthpieces, cheek pieces, and materials, TRUST strives to offer a suitable bit for every horse.
