Smaller rings have a more direct effect on the aids than larger rings. The smaller the rings, the more pressure is transferred over a smaller area. A good bit for a somewhat stronger horse.
The double-jointed bit has two hinge points, is shaped more to the mouth, and sits somewhat looser in the mouth. This bit acts on the tongue, the bars, and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws, as the hinge points can press against the bars, potentially causing wounds. Compared to a single-jointed bit, this bit acts more on the tongue. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture, which has a sweet taste and naturally stimulates the horse's saliva production. This causes the horse to foam more, which improves acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to a brownish-gray.
